Road Trip Route: Orlando FL-Palm Coast FL-Jekyll Island GA-(Day 2)-Jacksonville FL-Daytona Beach FL-Orlando FL (DAY 3)

It was five months until our wedding, it was time to see the venue, taste the food and meet with our wedding team at The Jekyll Island Club.  We flew into Orlando because Frontier had a cheap and direct flight from Las Vegas, plus it would give us an opportunity to see Florida to/from Jekyll Island.  On the way up to Jekyll we stopped at Kendall’s Bagels and More (Palm Coast), I had a breakfast bagel sandwich. We had a tasting around 1:00pm at the Jekyll Island Club Restaurant.  After the tasting we walked around on the beach and around the club area. My wife had a hair appointment later that night to test her makeup and hair for the wedding, so I headed to the Beach House Restaurant + Tap Room right beside our hotel to have a few drinks.  The atmosphere was calm and there were plenty of TV’s to watch. She later met up with me to have more drinks and food. The food was really good. We played tabletop shuffleboard.

The next day we headed back towards Orlando.  We stopped in Jacksonville, saw Everbank Field, and Jacksonville Landing.  Jacksonville Landing was run down with many empty storefronts, I wouldn’t go again.  Next was Daytona Beach. We stopped to see the Daytona International Speedway before heading down to the beach.  The beach and boardwalk area were nice, we ate dinner at Sloppy Joe’s. After dinner we sat on the beach and watched a huge harvest moon rise over the ocean. We next found ourselves in a local’s street party with rock bands lining the street, weed and drunk people were in the air so we cheezed it out of there.

We finally made it to the Quality Inn in Orlando around 11:00pm.  We flew out of Orlando early the next morning.
