Denver

Story

I have been to Denver three times now and I enjoyed it each time I visited. I found the downtown area to be clean as well as open.  There are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat and drink at when downtown. Each time I traveled the flights were LAS to DEN. The airlines in which I used included  Frontier (twice) and Southwest (once). Rental cars seem to be more expensive than most other cities I’ve been to. The airport is really nice, it also has a Priority Pass Lounge (Timberline Steaks & Grille).  We ate at Elway’s inside the airport. Pretty pricey for my taste but good food.

Restaurants:

  1. Howl at the Moon: This is my favorite bar in Denver.  I love the dueling pianos. They give military discounts.  I’ve been here two out of the three times (3rd was for business).

  2. 1UP:  1Up is a good place to start a night out, grab some drinks and play some arcade games or giant jenga.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, PacMan, and much more.

  3. Slice Works: Hit this place up on the walk back to our hotel from Howl at the Moon.  Perfect compliment to a night of drinking, my shoes still have grease stains from the slice of pizza dripping on them.

  4. My Brothers Bar:  Eh it was alright, not really my taste in burgers.

  5. Sassafras (Breakfast):  Amazing Coffee and Eggs Benedict.

  6. Pints Pub:  If you are a scotch drinker go here.

Attractions:

  1. Colorado State Capitol Building

  2. Coors Field

  3. Pepsi Center

Lodging:

  1. Holiday Inn Express Denver Downtown: Good location, lived up to the IHG name.

Kicking Foot Clan butt at 1Up.
